Yes—we do. The most practical solution is usually a modular seating system that pairs comfortable perch surfaces with a built-in barrier function. Think seat walls with integrated planters, steel-and-timber benches with backrests, concrete seat blocks, and planter benches that can be fixed or weighted in place. They give people a clear place to sit while also defining edges, guiding pedestrian flow, and creating a physical separation from traffic or service areas.
For urban settings, the key is to choose the right balance between comfort and control. A seat height around 450 mm works for most adults, while a depth of 450–600 mm keeps the bench comfortable without encouraging sleeping. Add a backrest or armrests where you want extra support. For barrier performance, specify fixed anchors, heavy bases, or connected modules so the furniture stays in position. Integrated planters can add greenery and make the barrier feel softer and more welcoming.
Materials matter in public spaces. Powder-coated steel, aluminum, concrete, and durable hardwood or recycled timber are good options. We normally recommend slip-resistant seats, rounded edges, drainage, and replaceable components. If the furniture is near roads or shared zones, consider contrasting colors and tactile cues so the barrier is visible. Modular designs are also easier to repair and reconfigure later.
These dual-purpose pieces work well in plazas, campuses, transit stops, parks, waterfronts, and temporary pedestrian zones. You can use them as standalone benches, connected seat walls, or planter-backed seating runs. For accessibility, leave clear wheelchair spaces and ensure the barrier does not block required paths.
If you tell me the space size, traffic risk, and design style, I can narrow it down to a few suitable options.
