There isn’t one single number I can honestly give you, because our urban outdoor furniture is made in different product families and materials—a recycled-aluminum bench is not the same as a concrete planter or a steel litter bin. For most of our pieces, cradle-to-gate emissions plus delivery typically fall in the range of roughly 35–180 kg CO2e per item, depending on design, material mix, factory energy use, finish, and shipping distance. The lower end tends to be recycled aluminum frames with FSC-certified wood or recycled HDPE slats; the higher end usually involves more steel, concrete, or complex coating processes. We calculate this using verified material emission factors, metered factory energy, waste and scrap data, and transport distances, and we update the model as supplier data improves. The main levers we use to bring the footprint down are recycled content, lightweight design, powder coating instead of high-VOC finishes, local assembly where possible, and nested or flat-pack shipping. I wouldn’t claim every piece is low-carbon by default—we publish the assumptions, keep improving the data, and work to reduce the number year over year.
