Great question. For most of our urban outdoor furniture, you won’t need any special tools. The majority of our benches, tables, chairs, planters, and modular seating pieces are designed for straightforward assembly, and they usually ship with the hardware and the basic tools you need, such as a hex key. In many cases, you can put a piece together with a Phillips screwdriver, an adjustable wrench, and maybe a rubber mallet.
Some larger or commercial-grade items may need a little more help because they have more connection points or need to be anchored. For standard assembly, though, you’re still working with common tools, not specialty equipment. If anchoring to concrete, wood decking, or a wall is required, you may need a drill and the appropriate masonry or wood anchors. That’s more about safe installation than basic assembly.
We always recommend checking the instruction sheet for your exact model, because one series may use a different fastener than another. If a piece does require a specific tool, we list it in the product details and include what we can in the box. It’s also a good idea to have a second person for larger items, work on a soft, flat surface, and leave bolts slightly loose until all parts are aligned.
If you’re unsure, send us the model name or SKU and we’ll confirm exactly what’s needed. And if you get stuck, our support team can walk you through the steps. So: no, special tools are rarely necessary—just basic tools, a bit of patience, and sometimes a friend.
