If you're worried about rust on metal urban outdoor furniture, you're not alone—it’s one of the most common concerns for buyers in public spaces, parks, and commercial plazas. At our factory, we take rust prevention seriously through a multi-layered approach.
First, we select materials with inherent corrosion resistance. For most outdoor pieces, we use galvanized steel—steel that has been hot-dipped in a zinc coating. This sacrificial layer corrodes before the steel does, extending the furniture's life significantly. For premium lines, we offer stainless steel (grades 304 or 316), which contains chromium to form a self-healing oxide barrier.
Second, we apply a protective powder coating over the metal. After cleaning and pre-treating the surface with a phosphate or chromate conversion coating, we electrostatically spray polyester or epoxy powder, then cure it in an oven. This creates a thick, durable shell that seals out moisture and salt. Our coatings are tested to ASTM B117 salt spray standards, often exceeding 1,000 hours without red rust.
Third, design matters. We avoid traps where water can pool, using sloped surfaces and drainage holes. Joints are welded (not bolted) when possible, and bolt holes receive stainless steel hardware with nylon washers to prevent galvanic corrosion.
Finally, every piece undergoes a 360-degree inspection and a 24-hour water spray test before shipping. We also provide clear care instructions: periodic cleaning with mild soap and water, and touch-up paint for any scratches.
By combining material selection, advanced coatings, smart design, and rigorous quality control, we ensure our metal urban outdoor furniture withstands rain, snow, and humidity for years—so you can enjoy it rust-free.
