Rinse thoroughly and dry completely with a towel to prevent water spots and moisture buildup. It's crucial to inspect the furniture periodically, especially after harsh weather, for any chips or scratches in the painted or powder-coated finish. Any breach in this protective layer exposes the raw iron to moisture, leading to rust.
If you discover rust spots, address them immediately. Use fine steel wool or a wire brush to gently scrub away the rust. Once the area is clean and smooth, apply a touch-up paint or a rust-inhibiting primer designed for metal, followed by a matching topcoat.
